: I've been checking around on the cost to have my kitchen tiled and been getting various prices on installation. I was just wondering what the average cost is to lay concrete board and tiles per sqaure foot.

That would be a regional/area thing. If their are not many tile setters in your area and the demand for them is high, you can expect the cost to be more.
I can tell you what my prices start at and let you see if I'm lower or higher then what you are getting quoted.

Any floor prep of any kind before cement board installation: $68.50 per hour + materials.

Undercutting doorjambs: $15 per doorway, or $7.50 per side.

Backer board installation on wood subfloor: $3.00 per sq.ft. and it includes " cement board and the installation.

Straight lay Ceramic tile: Starting @ $4.00 per sq.ft.

45 install: Starting @ $6.00 per sq.ft.

Boarders and inlays, per bid only

Walls: Starting at $8.00 per sq.ft.

Showers: Starting at $1000 and goes up from there.

Grout sealing: $75 per hour + materials

I have a $400 minimum.

All work guaranteed for life, unless improper maintenance or structural movement is detected by an independent certified inspector.
