Hi Tammy,
Most 'new' laminate floor installations
will have a swelling at the seams for 2 weeks or more.
This is common if the correct amount of glue is used.
I would like to caution you in the use of an over-wet
mop. You indicated your mop was snaging the edges of the
flooring, this may create a problem. The only time
laminate flooring 'doesn't' swell is too little glue,
or you purchased one of the 'new' plastic laminates.
Good Luck,
Wally
: We had tarkett flooring installed in November of last year. Due to water leak we had to replace this November. The first install last year was great, boards were smooth and no gaps (I loved it). This time the boards are "peaking" at the corners (in fact my mop gets caught on them). I have called the installer several times and he even came out today and told me it was normal and that it would eventually "lay down". The flooring was in our house one week before they actually installed it. The installer was the one who prepped the floor (it is over particle board in the dining room and vinyl in the kitchen (the rooms are joined). They used some kind of cement to level the floor.) I want to know if this is in fact "normal" and if the boards will lay down. It is not just a couple of boards - it is all of them. Can someone help me with this. I really need an objective opinion. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
