Is oak parquet flooring good in high-traffic areas? Does it have similar qualities to hardwood flooring? We are starting farmers, with a rock-bottom budget, but we like the look and feel of a wood floor. While looking at flooring, we noticed that parquet was in our price range (<$2/square foot, including subflooring, etc.), and looked nice to us. Will it hold up to occasinal mud-caked boots or spaghetti sauce spills? What would you suggest in our situation?
