Thanks for your comments Greg. You said that it's not that difficult "as long as you're installing on concrete". Actually, I'll be installing this flooring on the stairs & upper level of my home, which is of course plywood & floor joists. Is this going to make the job much more difficult?
Thanks - Jason
: Seriously, nailing your 3/4" flooring is the way to go and no, it's not that difficult, with a lot of patience (and as long as you're installing on concrete).
: If you can afford it, go professional installation; if you're handy, research hardwood flooring installation and have fun. It would take some effort to nail your foot.
: : I recently purchased some 3/4" rosewood planks & "Bostik's Best Hardwood Adhesive" from HD after the assiciate there informed me that they could be glued down. Now having done more research on the web, I see that nail-down installations are always recommended for hardwood installs. This leads me to a few questions.
: : Will the glue work? If so, are there any negatives associated with using the glue as opposed to nail-down?
: : If glue-down is ok, is there a need for the vapor barrier along with it?
: : I've read that nail-down jobs are best left to professionals. Aside from the risk of shooting a nail into my foot, is it really difficult?
: : Thanks...this stuff's expensive so I want to do it right! :)
