I just started a laminate flooring forum, please take a look. I would love to get a review on the Harmonics product.
: I've purchased the Harmonics products at Costco and have been trying to order modlings and can not get through to the 800 provided on the installation kit box. I haven't been able to find a distributor either. Any insight would be helpful.
: I bought Harmonics light oak when Costco had it on sale earlier this year. Had a friend with a little experience help me install it. Easy! My 16 yo son help me install an entry way a short time ago. Now we plan to do 644 sq ft in a WI closet, BR and Living RM. My problem is not with the flooring or installation but the trim where it joins to my tile floor. I finally bought some flat, unfinished oak trim and stained it to match the flooring. I counter sank brass screws into the trim and attached by screwing into the gap left for expansion. Floor and trim look great but I wish there were trim available for the floor to tile joint where the tile is above the floor. This flooring is obviously made by UNICLIC One-Step. This is their patented system for joining the planks. They had a patent infringement suit that was recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme court so I know that either Harmonics is their brand of Harmonics is licensed to use this system. My guess is that Harmonics is indeed UNICLIC. Good luck with your project.
: : : Harmonics has the best joinery system yet for a laminate floor. That is however only one aspect of a quality product. You don't mention the climate zone in which you live but the entryway may need some help if you live in the snow belt or a wet climate.
: : : : We are considering purchasing this flooring for an entry, dining, and kitchen areas (about 700 sq ft I think). I have NO experience in install but my sister did her house on her own and I have confidence we can do it too. I've been reading comments on this site and am sorta scared now. We don't want to pay more for the install then the darn flooring costs. Costco is about to have a $5 off coupon which makes this even more affordable. Any comments on durability, install, etc would be greatly appreciated. I esp want to know about possible separating of the planks....
