i would recommend using collins and aikman carpet. I have been installing this product for about 4 years now in various uses such as schools, hospitals, and even state jails. Most of the time it is being used in higher traffic areas. It is unique because of its resistance to moisture and other foreign liquids, which ultmately lead to the breakdown of any man made textile. Instead of your conventional jute or action backing, C & A carpet has a thick vinyl backing which does not delaminate after a rigorous washing. In particular, the RS line is by far the best choice for durability and at a whopping 1/4" thick, you end up with a tremendous accoustic barrier also.
