: Thanks for the great tips. It sounds like a real
: workout.

: The only reason I think we need to remove the
: old linolium is that there are lines of bubbles
: as if some kind of backing has come off. I'm not
: sure I want that to continue happening under
: new laminate flooring. Do you think it's a
: problem?

: Also, there are dips in the floor -- about 1/2
: inch in the middle of a 10-foot span. The
: retailer we're buying the Wilsonart
: laminate from said to use Ardex to
: level the floor. I thought that should
: go directly on the flooring surface instead of
: over the linoleum. Your thoughts?

Sounds like your flooring store has things well in hand ...

To tell you the truth, I cant really give you a completer answer .... i mean i really can not tell if your situation warrents a complete tear-out or not. Is the floor "loose" walking on it ? Is there loose spots ... rotted, deteriorated, swollen areas where there is water damage ? (look around door jambs and under windows/sinks/toilets, ect.)

It NEVER hurts to go the whole 9 yards with a complete tear-out and installation from the ground up. If you got the bucks and the brawn, I'd say go for it and let us know if we can be of any further help.
