I have old vinyl tile in my kitchen that I would like to remove, but now my husband has read that vinyl tile may contain asbestos and now won't let me scrape it off. How do you remove this stuff and minimize any asbestos danger? Is there a way to have it tested to see if asbestos is present? Or is it safe to just scrape it off anyway? We would like to install ceramic tile, but the vinyl is glued directly to the slab and we don't know how to cover it up so that we could still install ceramic. Any help would be appreciated!
